We invite you to join a live webinar offering legal guidance for families on securing education and social care during coronavirus.
During the webinar Steven Baylis and Emma Rush, from Irwin Mitchell, will look at: what has changed; what remains the same; and what this means Local Authorities can and cannot do during these challenging times. There will also be the opportunity for families to ask questions during the session.
Â
Steven Baylis is an Associate Solicitor specialising in education and community care law and cases in the Court of Protection involving mental capacity, best interests and deprivation of liberty.
Steven often represents families in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Disability Tribunals, in challenges against local authority decisions including refusals to conduct education, health and care (EHC) needs assessments, challenges against the content of statements of special educational needs in EHC plans and challenging decisions to cease to maintain statements.
Â
Emma Rush is a Partner within the Medical Negligence team and acts exclusively on behalf of clients in clinical negligence cases, helping people to seek answers about concerns in their medical care provided by NHS Trusts, GPS and private practitioners.
Emma has a particular interest in obstetric/gynaecology cases and has represented many families where children have been left with significant disabilities and in need of lifelong private care due to injuries sustained at birth.
