Irwin Mitchell’s Head of Construction Vijay Bange will lead a panel discussion with contributors from Atkin Chambers and HKA on the risks presented and the impact on disputes and litigation.
Drawing on recent reports and analysis, the panel will consider key jurisdictions and the risks faced in the current UK and key international markets. The panel will discuss how leaders can respond to these challenges to manage the risk of disputes and to prepare and resource for effective dispute resolution where they cannot be resolved.
The panel will consider the options, including specialist courts, arbitrators, dispute boards, and adjudication where appropriate.

Mathias Cheung’s domestic and international commercial practice covers all areas of Atkin Chambers’ work, including construction, engineering and infrastructure, energy and utilities, information technology, professional negligence, and international arbitration. In addition to these specialist areas, he has also gained experience in a wide range of commercial disputes, including cases on banking, insolvency, fraud, insurance, assignment, subrogation, conflicts of law and airline claims.

Helen Collie is a Chartered structural engineer with over fifteen years industry experience, from design and coordination of arts, education, healthcare, and commercial structures, becoming a specialist in forensic engineering work. A Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers, Helen sits on the IStructE Council and Engineering Leadership Group. She is also a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
Helen’s design experience ranges from high rise concrete structures, to adaptive reuse of existing London building stock, to complex steelwork arrangements. Her forensic experience includes vibration issues, steelwork connection design and construction, water ingress to basements, blockwork and RC construction and design, and concrete condition surveys and testing.
Now specialising in expert work at HKA, Helen has been cross-examined remotely in arbitration proceedings and participated in numerous joint expert meetings and mediation. She manages the HKA Structural Engineering team.
